The Tango, a leather 85mm block heel sabot has been designed for wading through (and dancing on) the grease-lined floors of seedy neighbourhood brothels of 1910s and 20s Buenos Aires; the very same locales in which Jorge Luis Borges alleges that the tango was born, before being adopted by the bourgeoisie and shorn of its lewd and aggressive sexuality into something far more melancholy. The Vaquera variant has been constructed from a deep plum-coloured premium Italian vegetal-dyed cowhide with contrasting acid purple stitching. The same material is used for straps and bow. As with all other Tango styles, this model has been designed to also be worn together with our range of tubular knitted Argyle gaiters, as seen in photos below, which can be purchased separately on the homepage.
