The Tango, a leather 75mm block heel sabot has been designed for wading through (and dancing on) the grease-lined floors of seedy neighbourhood brothels of 1910s and 20s Buenos Aires; the very same locales in which Jorge Luis Borges alleges that the tango was born, before being adopted by the bourgeoisie and shorn of its lewd and aggressive sexuality into something far more melancholy. In this variant the upper of the Tango has been constructed with a waterproof cotton in traditional Scottish Black Watch Tartan, manufactured by the world famous natural waxed fabric specialists Halley Stevenson. The fabric will age and fray beautifully with use in the same way as traditional British country outerwear. The Tango has been designed to also be worn together with our range of tubular knitted Argyle gaiters, as seen in photos below, which can be purchased separately on the homepage.
